Severe weather is possible Wednesday in the Central Plains from the late afternoon through the overnight hours. A wave of energy moving out of the Rockies should spark thunderstorms during the afternoon in portions of Eastern Colorado and Wyoming. A threat of small will be possible with these storms.

A dryline should setup in Western Kansas by late afternoon and could spark thunderstorms by late afternoon. Although a strong cap will be in place limiting storm initiation, if enough moisture can return to the region than surface-based supercell thunderstorms will be likely with very large hail, damaging winds, and perhaps a tornado or two.

During the overnight hours thunderstorms should push into portions of SE Nebraska and NE Kansas and become more elevated with small hail being the main threat.
