The weather will be quite active over the Central U.S. on Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms will be persistent throughout most of the day from Minnesota to Texas. Meanwhile, heavy snow will blanket areas near the Rockies.
A squall-line with embedded supercells will likely be ongoing through Thursday night bringing severe weather in parts of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Damaging winds will be the main threat but with enough shear in the atmosphere, isolated tornadoes will also be possible.
Winter storm warnings will remain in effect for portions of Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and the Dakotas as well. Heavy snow will bring as much as two feet in some locations. Many road closings and cancellations can be expected in this region.
