Historic Season Ends

November 30th, 2005 – The official 2005 hurricane season ended with the emergence of Tropical Storm Epsilon, the 26th named storm of the busiest hurricane season on record.  Epsilon threatened Bermuda with dangerous surf. Hurricane names begin with the greek alphabet once the traditional alphabet is used up. (Charlie Wilson)

Hurricane Nicole

November 29th, 1998 - Tropical Storm Nicole strengthened to a hurricane in the eastern Atlantic.  This brought the total number of hurricanes to 33 for the four year period of 1995-1998, the most hurricanes on record in a four year period in the Atlantic Ocean.

Deadly North Carolina Tornado

November 28th, 1988 – Thunderstorms spawned five tornadoes in North Carolina during the early morning hours. A powerful tornado ripped through one of the most densely populated areas of Raleigh destroying hundreds of homes and damaging thousands more. November 27th, 1990 – A tornado moved across the southern edge of Rushville, IL and moved northeast causing extensive damage to homes, barns, and trees in the Scab Hollow area.
