Residents in the foothills near Los Angeles dealt with another round of massive landslides over the weekend. Residents were evacuated in the La Canada Flintridge area as a river of mud inundated the community damaging over 40 homes and 25 vehicles.

Many are scrambling to salvage whatever belongings they can as the threat for more rain on Tuesday may cause additional evacuations in the foothills. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger toured the area on Monday and promised to help the residents recover from the disaster.

A massive wildfire in September left the region primed for mudslides during the wet season, which lasts for another few months.
