TORNADOES CAUSE DAMAGE/INJURIES IN NORTH CAROLINA

At least seven tornadoes were reported in North Carolina on Sunday as violent storms rolled through the state. Some injuries have been reported and numerous structures have sustained severe damage. At the Wylie Overlook mobile home park near Lexington, insulation littered trees as at least one home was destroyed and others were overturned.

A large tornado was reported in High Point around 6:30pm. There was significant damage to homes and businesses which lead to several injuries in the area. The roof of a local supermarket was ripped off and blown into the street. Extensive tree damage was also reported with the storm.

Another mobile home park was hit by a possible tornado in Thomasville. There was at least one injury as multiple mobile homes were damaged at the Valley Mobile Estates.
